Facade Installation Specialists

T&D Glazing and Installation Limited is a specialist facade installation contractor, established in 2003. We work mainly in London and across the UK, installing curtain walling, cladding and glazing on residential and commercial buildings, with extensive experience in high-rise construction.

We work for facade contractors, manufacturers and main contractors. Our clients provide the facade design and materials; we plan, manage and carry out the installation on site.

High-Rise Facades and Specialist Glazing

Our work ranges from unitised and stick curtain walling to rainscreen, stone and GRC cladding, windows, doors and architectural facade elements. We also install structural glazing, glazed roofs, canopies and high-end shopfronts.

Managing the Work on Site

Our packages bring together installation teams, site management, setting out, logistics and quality control. We coordinate the work with our client's team and other trades, including access arrangements, lifting operations and the sequence of installation.

Where required, we provide access equipment and specialist glass-handling machinery as part of the package. Working at height, handling large facade elements and keeping materials moving through restricted site areas are familiar parts of our work.

Refurbishment and Maintenance

Alongside new-build installation, we undertake recladding, facade refurbishment and glass replacement. We also support our clients with inspection, maintenance and cleaning teams, as well as mock-up construction and testing assistance.

Good installation depends on the people doing the work and the planning behind them. Our approach is practical: clear responsibilities, safe working methods, careful workmanship and straightforward communication from the first site preparations through to handover.

IQL S4 (International Quarter London Stratford 4)

Installation of stick curtain walling and unitised facades/ external glazing and cladding on a 22-storey high-rise building, including: Site Logistics, Setting Out, Glazing, Cladding, Builders Clean, Protection and Removal of the Protection at Project Practical Completion, project consisted of:

 

  • 16,500 of unitised facade
  • 1,200 of aluminium stick curtain walling, Reynaers system
  • glazed balustrades
  • rainscreen cladding and soffits

Work to do on the project/ Our responsibilities:

 

  • Pre-installation level and position survey of superstructure
  • Taking delivery of all materials (brackets, fixings, secondary materials, insulation, panels)
  • Installation and setting of the support brackets
  • Removal and disposal/ return of temporary protection and crates
  • Installation of façade (including stick system and GRC)
  • Completing the perimeter seal
  • Installation of copings, flashings, and balustrades
  • Dismantling and removing temporary edge protection & taking down to ground floor
  • Provision of as built surveys
  • Supply, Installation and maintenance of temporary protection. Materials to comply with LPS 1215
  • Installation of Firestop/ FIRAS accredited to perform and provide QA in accordance with the requirements of FIRAS and provide FIRAS conformance certificate
